Good reachNice unit – Alittle bit top heavy at times but has made my hedge cutting much safer than climbing on the stepladder. Battery life seems OK always an excuse to have a break ” Waiting for the battery to charge. Darling!!”

Struggles a little with hawthorn.Light weight and simple to operate. Struggled a bit to cleanly cut fresh green hawthorn hedge as chewed it a bit rather than cleanly cutting. Seems to cut fine on conifer.

Cuts wellFound it heavy after using it to cut a high hedge after five minutes. Could be as I’m nearly 70 and not as strong as I thought I was.Still did a very good job and very good battery life. Also I can interchange the battery with my Worx strimmer. My next purchase will be the Worx battery mower.

Good hedge trimmer but sightly unbalancedArrived on time and easy to assemble. Gave a beech hedge a severe cut back with a chainsaw and then used this to shape it. I was worried about whether a battery trimmer would have enough power but it seemed to cope with most things – I would say probably 15mm is the max diameter it will cut. Used it for about 30 mins with no problem. Bonus is the that battery is compatible with my Works strimmer so got reserve power if needed. The aluminium pole gives a good extension and is strong enough to prevent any wobble. Only criticism is that the motor is at the blade end, rather than the handle end (I think this is standard for battery tools). This does create quite a lot of leverage and makes it quite heavy, especially if you are using it fully extended / for a long period or when you are stretching to reach. It may be that I need to play around with the shoulder strap to work out a better way of supporting the weight. That’s the only thing that stopped it getting five stars.

Flexible with great battery lifeAppears to be well made. The 2.0Ah battery seems to last well. The charge indicator on the battery is very useful. Easy to operate but the weight of the motor is at the extended end of the tool so it can get heavy quickly, though the shoulder strap can help.Cuts ok but I wouldn’t suggest it as the only hedge cutter for anyone with anything other than minimal needs. As a second cutter for hard to reach areas it is great.

Decent hedge trimmerIt does the job, not too heavy for a small 59 year old woman with no muscles. Still needed the stepladder to cut the top of the hedge though – couldn’t seem to get the right angle otherwise

Not badThe product itself is well built but the balance is not as good as petrol variants because there is no counterbalance when fully extended. This in turn makes it hard work cutting for a long time. For short periods it’s fine and cuts as expected.

battery cutterbought as i have a couple of other worx items and the battery pack fits them all.it is reasonably light weight, simple to use, the adjustable angle head is useful. but geared towards light duty cutting.it did not arrive with the support handle as the imagery would suggest but for short periods of use just holding the pole and the power control handle is alright but the balance even with the shoulder support strap is not great.as a safety feature the power lever must be depressed to run the cutter so your grip on the handle is set, and without the support handle movement can be a little awkward.overall a good light duty piece of equipment

Hedges not HedgerowsThis machine is beautifully engineered except for one thing, it can’t be used without the pole. After an hour I was exhausted – the law of the lever! Apart from that it is really well put together – tap the battery and it will teii you how much life is left. The pole extends smoothly. What had me send it back was it couldn’t contend with 10mm Backthorn . I had a B&D mains 500w coped much better (along with a loppers) and I might try a mains Pole – if the trimmer can be detached. If I had a “normal” hedge I would go for this – £106 it’s a steal.

Easy high-reach hedgecuttingI bought this to cut my hedge and also to trim the straggly top of some acers, both of which it did perfectly.I have a couple of other Worx products, which I’ve been using for some time now, which is why I chose this. It uses the same battery as them, so buying it ‘bare’ like this is not only cheaper, but also more eco-friendly
