Bought for Guitar StringsI was looking for something cost effective to cut my guitar strings. I have used for changing strings 6-7 times and they are still cutting. I figured if they kept sharp for @ 6 months then I could buy another pair at this price point.

Amazing out the box, totally useless after being used. Ok for very rare usage. Not worth the moneyInitially I thought the snips were amazing. When first used they cut anything insanely well and I was very happy with them. I have only used them for 22awg single strand wire which I use I guitar modding, guitar strings and really small cable ties so nothing to taxing or tough and they were outstanding to start with. However after very little time they became loose and wobbly and the cutting edges which no longer line up properly looked more like the line on a heart monitor.I needed a set of snips for a portable tool box as I have a decent pair in my workshop which are gettin a bit old . I have had them for a good 10 years but they still work fine. I do quite a bit of wiring and use snips a lot but it was less than 4 weeks before these became mostly useless which is just not good at all. My old set were about £3 from 1 of them sells everything not quite a pound shop, shops. So not a massively expensive or pair, certainly no named make but they are far better quality than these things.Saying that, if you are only going to use them a couple of time a year and just need something that will cut well and be comfortable and easy to use you will probably be OK especially with getting 2 pairs. Their initial performance is incredible but they just don’t last so don’t get them if you intend to use them on any kind of regular/semi-regular ocassion, perhaps no more than 3 times a year, then you might get a few years out of them.
