Too Much PlayWera makes top grade tools but sometimes junk as well. We are already inundated with imported junk and knock offs that are no more than scrap metal. We do not need usually reputable companies like Wera to sell junk. The lack of sturdiness comes from too much play or wobble between 1/4″ hex shank and internal bit holding clutch head. Please note that I am not referring to the loose outside locking/release sleeve.

Initial impressions goodArrived promptly, feels sturdy. So far has worked well. Only three stars for durability as I was asked to review soon after purchase so can’t really say. Bit of a daft question really.

It’s Wera, so it’s good, right ? Right ✔️Generally, Wera make great tools and accessories and the same can be said for this.I bought this, like a lot of people will, to be used with a battery drill/driver. Although it can be used manually, that is not what I need it for. This holder has a strong ring magnet that locates the screw onto the bit, that is held very securely in the holder. This makes it great if the place you are putting the screw means you need to stretch or you are putting it deep within a cupboard or recess where you can’t hold the screw onto the bit. I found that it enables you do this very easily, up to a screw length of 100mm. Any longer and I’d use an impact driver and bit.The holder is chunkier than the Wera 889/4/1, 16mm vs 14.75mm and the overall length, including No2 Pz bit, is slightly longer, 61.35mm vs 61.2. So no issues with these dimensions. The bottom line is:- another great part from Wera.

  4. Dan O’Neill

Works perfectly and removing bit is very easy!Great product – works perfectly. The most useful feature though is the way it removes the bit by sliding back and forth. I own another similar product from Makita – and getting the bits out afterwards is a struggle. This is so useful when up ladders etc and you need to change bits.

  5. Slawek

Avoid getting dirty inside.Short, comfortable and well made. After prolonged use, it is difficult to remove the bit.

  6. David Morgan

WowLove it, works perfectly, the magnetic holds is brilliant

  7. Mick M

This works great…IF like me you figure out how to use it properlyI finally realised that to remove the BIT you have to flick it up and down a few times and it will come loose, so the bit-holder is fine but I’m the problem!!

  8. david prichard.

werai just went to shed to try it it works a treat holds the screw firm worth the money all day long

  9. Xavi sanchez

Affordable.I like this tool but is a bit too expensive. I ordered Bush bit just to compare for me I prefer the Bush, but I like this one to , price wise is too high.

Exactly what I wanted – and good qualityNeeded to hold screws onto bit when driving – particularly in awkward positions. I know it is not the cheapest – but Wera quality is obvious
