Purchased for HusbandMy Husband is pleased with the purchase

Good value basic set for occasional useIt’s good value for money for occasional use at home – perfect for this context. I wouldn’t recommend for regular pro workshop use, but I don’t think it sets out to be that.

  3. Dave

Well worth the moneyI bought this tap and die set as i was rebuilding a Rover V8, which uses a lot of UNC &UNF threads, and it has helped me hugely. The quality appears to be fine, i haven’t snapped one yet, and the metal storage case it comes in is very durable. If you require a UNC and UNF tap and die set i would highly recommend this one.RegardsDavid

overall its goodoverall this product is good enough for me, it doesnt get used much but its definitely handy to have.

  5. Bob

Can’t understand the negative reviewsThese work just fine. They are not meant to be forced the job needs finesse!

  6. Amazon Customer

A bit poor qualityThe taps are ok but the screw Handel is very poor and doesn’t screw tight enough

  7. Rsdavies

works wellThis product works really well for such a cheap set, bought it to do one job and expected to throw it away afterwards, but I was surprised how well it cut the threads. I’m not saying you could use it commercially but for a diy person it’s ideal. would like to say I would buy again but I don’t think I will need to ! good product at the right price, delivered one time, what more can I say

You get what you pay forAs the title suggests, you dont pay a lot for these tap and dies, but dont expect accuracy or quality, as they lack both.Threads on the taps are terrible, some taps have threads missing part way up the tap, so if you are tapping something more than 20mm thick, when you get to the part of the tap with missing teeth it ruins the thread you just cut. wasted over £30 of material due to this, and they have the cheek to charge me £2 to return the pile of rubbish.I should have known better really, all the ‘great’ reviews for a £20 tap and dye set should’ve been a red flag.

  9. Romill

Cheap as chipsA really inexpensive set and will probably be useful for cleaning existing threads. Handles are useless being made of very cheap ‘alloy’ or Mezak (I think). I wouldn’t like to use them on hard materials.

  10. Amazon Customer

Average build qualityFunctional tap and die set, clearly built down to a price point. The handle is the weak link as the retaining screws come loose easily and are not quality items. The taps and dies are, however, just fine for the occasional jobs that I bought them for. As a whole this is not suitable for professional use; spend cheap, spend twice!
