A lot of time saved not having to go to the recycling centre to get rid of bulky garden waste!I bought this machine to shred the vast quantities of garden waste that seem to endlessly appear, it is very good at doing this.Downsides are the position of the exit chute – as there was no need to move the machine I ended up standing it on concrete blocks so I could position a plastic bin beneath the chute – and the effort needed to start it, although it starts first time a lot of people will struggle with the recoil starter. It is also very noisy and can grab things out of your hand if you are not careful so wearing protective equipment (ear defenders, safety glasses and gloves) is essential. The rubber guards on the side entry funnel didn’t last long, this may well have been due to them being stiff when I used the machine during cold weather, they were quite flexible when it was warmer. There are some things it just can’t cope with (especially leylandii hedge trimmings, which clog the guard in the exit chute) but everything else is reduced to fragments!

Very good with the big stuff but…This thing is a monster dragging in branches up to 100mm thick and chopping into small chips. The top feeder only takes in up to 10mm twigs but works reasonably well. Watch out though, it drags them in very fast and without gloves you could lose some skin. However, the rubber (?) guard on the 100mm feed tube collapsed within a couple of hours of use so you have to make sure you’re standing to the side when feeding as bits can come flying out at an incredible rate of knots. The supplied ‘safety gear’ must be the cheapest of the cheap. The gloves fell apart after a few hours. Buy decent PPE. Overall, it’s doing the job well and I’m not disappointed.

quality of machine and easy startLike the very powerful motor and the easy way that it started up after about three pulls for the first time.Overall very well finished and good design but find the nylon flap on top of hopper somewhat hard to push branches through. Why they welded a plate on top of the feeding hopper with that flap is a bit of a question to me.Hope to get through a lot of branches this coming week after pruning our apple orchard.Because of this restriction with the flap we had to cut the branches smaller as planned.Pity of this but having said this, it is a very good well finished powerful machine .Could recommend this for sure

Works very well but you need to clear the exit chute very often or it will jamAs with most of the shredders at this cost bracket, they all seem to have the chute out of the bottom. Some smaller twigs can get through the filter plate and then cause it to jam if not monitored closely. Eats through bigger branches with ease. Neighbours not too happy with the noise but it is what it is. With the recycling centres limiting visits and a lot of trees and large shrubs to keep under control, a decent shredder is needed and this one works well.

Not robust or reliable. When itās working, it works well, but Iāve had a lot of problems and wouldnāt but again. The delivery was on-time, but there were bolts missing. This took a couple of weeks to resolve. The machine is easy to maintain, which is just as well as I have had to reset the hammers, and replace the cutting blades. It will handle up to 10cm, but only if you are prepared to do some maintenance, and spend some money on parts. Most recently a blade failed, with a broken bolt then doing more damage.

Things falling off :/We had this about 10-14 days and all the black cover for the side arm has come off, and all the nuts and bolts have flown off!

T-Mech Wood Chipper and ShredderI purchased the T-mech Wood Chipper because of its 100mm branch chipping capacity. It was delivered promptly and efficiently. A small amount of assembly was necessary, but was easily accomplished. The Chipper was found to perform well in its operation. One disappointing feature was that the rubber screen on the branch hopper had become completely destroyed after its second one hour run. This is because the rubber was too brittle. However this has not affected performance and I am sufficiently satisfied with the product.
