  • JAPANESE STYLE PULL SAW: This product is a “Pull Saw.” Most people are used to European saws, called “push saws,” which cuts through a pushing motion. On the other hand, Japanese saws cut materials via pulling and are called “pull saws.” In comparison to “push saws,” this Japanese product is lighter in weight, requires less power, and results in a cleaner edge.
  • JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws consist of top quality Japanese steel. The high-quality steel makes razor sharp cuts.
  • MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN products are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. The whole process of making these tools are completed in one of Japan’s towns known for its craft-making tradition with a history of over 100 years.
  • BLADE FOR HARDWOOD AND SOFTWOOD: You can easily cut oak, sandalwood, ebony, mahogany, maple, walnut and pine with a robust blade for hardwood. The blade for softwood can be used for white cedar, Japanese cedar, larch, paulownia wood and many others.
  • DIVERSIFY YOUR WOODWORKING LIFE: No matter if you are a master or a beginner, using traditional Japanese-style saws gives you a brand new experience and lets you make a wider range of woodworking products, thus changing your life!

10 reviews for SUIZAN Japanese Flush Cut Trim Hand Saw 120mm Pull Saw for Hardwood and Softwood

  1. Chris M.

Excellent sawI bought this saw to use on a workbench I am building, it worked brilliant to flush trim some oak dowels used to fix the bench top.I like the fact this saw has dual use ie. One side for softwood and the other side for hardwoods. It is sharp and I would highly recommend this product.

A bit flimsyWorks ok but I bit flimsy not sure if it’s supposed be like that as I’ve never used one before. You have 2 separate cuts on each side

  3. Cos

Excellent sawSuizan produce excellent saws for the price. I understand all their saws are made using Japanese steel. I bought this soon after buying their Ryoba (double edged saw) .I would highly recommend this product.

Really useful Japanese sawIf we valued tools by their weight, then this would probably be the most expensive hand tool in my workshop, but to me it’s worth more than it’s weight in gold! It was my introduction to Japanese saws which cut on the pull rather than the push stroke and I would never go back to Western saws again. This little saw is one of my favourite tools. It’s sharp and accurate and its flexible blade means it can go where other saws can’t without leaving a mark on the workpiece. Trimming dowels, fine tuning cuts made with bigger saws, and tidying up joints and end cuts are just some of the uses I’ve put it to. its double edged blade deals equally well with both hard and soft woods. I don’t know how this Suizan saw compares to equivalent saws from other Japanese makers, but as far as I’m concerned I can’t see how this could be bettered.

GreatThe lack of any set to the teeth means this allow you to cut dowels etc flush to a surface without marking it. Then again, if you are looking at flush-cut saws then you probably already knew that! This does the job great, plus the thin plate is extremely flexible for getting into tight spaces. Excellent.

Great toolI don’t often leave reviews but had to say something about this little gem.I am using this to cut joints in 50 year old oak floorboards, which is really hard, and the cuts are dead on straight.Hints.Before you use watch lots of videos on YouTube about pull saws.Practice on some scrap woodGo slow to start with and you will soon speed up.Small but great

Fantastic sawAbsolutely love this saw. I will be buying a bigger version at some point. This cuts and leaves a smooth edge, it’s very precise and no messy shavings, just a bit of dust when soft wood is cut. So far I’ve built ceiling to floor clothes hangers with shelves and a 4 tier shelf unit for my games consoles using just this saw. It’s so easy to use. I find this type of saw a bit expensive but in comparison to other models out there this is value for your money. My only gripe would be the flimsyness of the blade, which I know it has to be, but I have almost snapped it once or twice. If you are into a bit of DIY woodworking then this is a must have for your tool box..

  10. T. Everett

Cuts like a knife through butterCuts through pine with ease, leaving a better finish then my other small saws. Blade has different teeth on each side, one for hard and one for soft wood. Only downside I found is that the metal bends too easily, need to bend it back straight a lot. Overall I’m happy for the performance and price
