H60 –
Good taps and dies.I have now cut a couple of hundred threads in mild steel and some in stainless steel. There were no breakages and they are still sharp. I think that it is important to always use a cutting lubricant/compound when cutting the thread. I like the split design of the dies as it allows some adjustment of the clearance in the finished thread. I didn’t use the wrenches supplied so can’t comment on those, but I can highly recommend the taps and dies.

Good, but die holding tool could be a little bit biggerI did exactly what wanted it for, however the tool for holding the die is a little small and it digs into my hand a lot when using it.

Not what i expected from SealeyI have used the taps a couple of times and already the tap wrench is starting to slip, the body of the wrench is made of a cast aluminium alloy which after a few operations have become difficult to tighten or loosen and doesn’t effectively hod the tap.I know this is a budget set for DIY use but I expected the wrench to be better made

Fit for purposeI am pleased that I invested in this useful tap and die set. It made light work of cutting the twenty M6 and M5 threads to bolt a gate closer and magnetic lock to a wrought iron gate. Much better than my previous cheaper set that had only a single tap for each thread size. I did take the precaution of using cutting grease.Although the the tap wrench does not tightly grip the taps, I find it adequate.

A great tap and die set for occasional useA great tap and die set for occasional use, well presented in a metal box, good quality and accurate. I can’t comment on the long term but it was exactly what I needed.

Can get it cheaperTaps are not the worst but far from professional quality, same with the dies. Like all sets the holes are rubbish. The box/index is great. Main reason I got it.The actual seller included an advert for their website, annoyingly this item is 7 aid cheaper on their website.

Perfectly acceptable little set for the price and my required usage.Only used the M10 Taps so far but worked just fine for my application. All of the items were present and correct, unlike some others who have had them delivered.Other, more expensive sets would be better for everyday use but for home/hobby type use I can see no reason why this shouldn’t b man enough for your jobs.Only criticism would be that it would be nice to have a little drill guide in the set to say what size drill bit is best suited for each size but that information is easily available online.

Worked well tapping into steelI used this, along with drilling oil, to tap three threaded holes in a hollow steel tube. I took my time and rotated backwards often. I ended up with good threaded holes which fitted the bolts well. I am very happy with this Sealey AK3015 Metric Tap and Die Set.
