Works wellDid the job of hand tapping mild steel.

They are good for the priceArrived very quickly and in a small plastic case. They do what they are supposed to do.

Superior to cheap carbon-steel tapsUnlike some other reviewers of these taps, I have found them to work very well indeed. As an example, I attempted to tap a hole, in a cast iron vice body, using a cheap set of carbon-steel taps. It was very hard going and one of them broke-off in the work-piece. Luckily, I was able to remove it from the hole. Subsequently, I tried the Ruko Terrax set. These three taps worked like a hot knife through butter. The process required much less effort and produced a clean thread. None of the taps broke. I’m certainly no expert in the use of taps and dies. Nevertheless, I used this HSS set with ease. Based on this experience, I recommend them.

Not as shownThey are much better than the el-cheapo set (single cutters) that I’ve struggled with for the last 15 years, but they are also not bottom taps as shown. All are tapered to a point. I ordered them because I need bottom taps….That said, I’ve used them 4 times since I’ve had them and they make a nice thread once finished.I bought M4x0.7

  5. S. Wells

smaller than expectedseem to work OK. The are smaller than I expected so I expect to snap them.

  6. Mick

Good tools.Good quality taps. Work well with good progression of cutting stages 1,2,3 leaving good finish. Was able to tap a hard piece of stainless steel.

  7. Trevor

Very good for a budget tap setVery good for the price. Can’t rate on the sheerness though, as I have only ever been there for an hour or so, and it was dark!

  8. Amazon Customer

Great value tapsThe price was right as I thought I’d try them and was really surprised by the quality of the steel used…very sharp and so far streets above similar priced taps.Worth trying
