Meh at best. Pay for what you getI mean…. Let’s start with the basicsI have a huge heavy halfords toolset, and keeping that in the car occupied a lot of space. So I found this and at 5£ I was willing to give it a try.First the pros, obviously the price! It’s cheaper than a mcdonald’s meal. There’s a decent selection, quite a few sockets but mostly smaller sizes, you won’t be taking your wheels off with this. It’s more a home DIY socket set reallyAnd the size of the box, it’s tiny! Now the cons.Unfortunately the ratchet is of very poor quality, however. Bare in mind the price. It’s extremely cheap so corners have been cut. My ratchet didn’t hold sockets on well and basically exploded with a semi tight bolt (automotive rust and what have you)The screwdriver is also very poor quality. I was trying to turn a bolt, again small but quite rusty and managed to seperate the plastic handle, from the metal rod that sits in the plastic handle. So I had 2 piece in my hand and the other flew off somewhere lol, but let me repeat. Its £5What I’ve done now, I’ve kept the 1/4 halfords ratchet in my car with this small sized box and find it suitable for general maintenance, ie tightening a jubilee clip, I managed to change my thermostat housing with this toolset too. It’s not perfect but as a socket set (minus the screwdriver and the ratchet) it’s perfectly usable

Didnt expect anything other for the value. The screwdriver thing broke instantly after trying to unscrew a nut, that was not even tightened, and the ratchet itself needs to be greased as it gets stuck, good thing i had another ratchet, and i mainly needed the different sizes. But once again, i did not expect much for the price, and is more then enough for an ocasional personal use.

from upset and annoyed to smiling thank you rolsonUPDATED (carry on reading)was really excited to use this as the reviews weren’t too bad, the ratchet broke in the second use, the sockets are decent enough. quite gutted really expected better from rolson.Rolson redeem themselves, they communicated with me and said they’d send out a replacement, here i was thinking it’ll be another ratchet alone, instead they sent me a whole new set, fair play to you Rolson good to see there’s still a company out there with integrity that looks to put things right for their customers, the new ratchet has been perfect, perhaps i just got unlucky with the last one.i think you should definitely give them a try, you can’t go wrong with the price, and they’ve got fantastic customer service so you’re looked after it it does go wrong.thank you again Rolson, very happy customer

Cheap and cheerfulPurchased to do odd jobs around the house. I’ve used Rolson tools before over the years, some are decent, some are ok and some are rubbish. This falls in to the ok category for me. It feels cheap. The plastic storage case is very cheap but what do you expect for under £10! If you use it for around the house, it does the job. If you are wanting something to use everyday or for heavy duty applications, like for cars etc. I would spend a bit more money and get something else.
