Very solid hacksaw let down by a sticker.Great hacksaw, small in size (which was what I wanted) but very sturdy and works well. Unfortunately it was let down by a sticker. Huge sticker on the hacksaw that when peeled off left a huge amount of adhesive on it. Seems strange to not have an easy-to-peel sticker nowadays. Took about 5 minutes to rub off with a wet towel.

Plastic stressed when blade tensioned by handPresch Junior Hacksaw 150 mmBought to replace an old junior hacksaw that would not provide adequate blade tension.I thought the Presch looked fine and from its description it sounded more than adequate for occasional home use.My expectations were high based on proclamations of PRESCH – The perfect tool for your job. That and my blinkered view that anything associated with German engineering had to be at least OK.The saw was used to cut eight small sections from 3.2mm aluminium. For a junior hacksaw, I felt the blade performed reasonably, and the handle sat well in my hand. But beware the plastic. The description statesāIt may look harmless at just 150mm in length, but this handsaw has it all: its sturdy steel construction neatly applies tension to the bi-metal saw blade so that metal, plastics and plasterboard can quickly be dispensed with. In addition, the metal hacksaw sits well in your hand.āandāThe use of high-quality materials such as the frame ensures that the hacksaw lasts a long timeāThe construction of the saw includes plastic through which the blade tension is acquired via a knurled metal thumb-screw.I achieved tension in the saw blade by hand-tightening the screw but once tensioned, the plastic indicated stress where it joins the handle. The stress was noted on fitting the blade and tensioning prior to initial use, but I used the saw regardless as it was outside the return window and I needed to get the job done.In my opinion, it is not reasonable that the design of a saw could allow tensioning the blade by hand to be detrimental to the sawās structural integrity.I am concerned that the integrity of stressed plastic shall cause premature failure of the saw.Three stars on the basis that tool performed reasonably well, was relatively comfortable to use, but blade tension achieved by hand should not cause signs of stress to the toolās integrity.Based on this experience, I am unlikely to buy other Presch tools.I would recommend those seeking a decent junior hacksaw, if there is such a thing, to widen their search.

ExcellentBought this to cut the bolts to a toilet seat which was stuck. YouTube showed people using angle grinders. Some did use a saws like this. Spoke to a plumber about paying him to get it off. Told me I’d probably need a complete new toilet. Told him forget it and bought this. Cut both bolts in 10 to 20 minutes. If you get tired get a partner and take turns. My son helped me. Fantastic.

Perfect Presch Thank You.I bought this solely to do one job. I needed to shorten the frame of a metal shelving unit to get the best fit in the garden shed. Was initially concerned when it arrived it wasnt going to be up to the job. But taking it easy the Presch completed the task with style and no cut fingers or swearing …which is a first for this non DIYer. Will definitely look at Presch for other tools in the future. (The wife said its never going to strong/robust enough. She says shes sorry for doubting you)
