Does the jobBought for cutting under architrave for fitting wooden floor.Nice and easy to use accurately and gives a fine cut. The blade can be released and moved into one of two positions for right or left hand cuts.I used a spacer underneath to give me the correct height of cut. The profile of the blade made it easy to get a level cut.Cant comment on the longevity of the blade as I only had to cut under 7 door frames.

Easy to make smooth cutsThis saw has great teeth which went through the pine and mahogany types I was working on with ease.I was expecting a narrower finer cut, but the edge is very smooth and straight when used with a little care. The lever system works with ease and locks well.It’s versatile, durable and comfortable and I’ll be using this a lot.

Looks better than it isBuild quality is good, handy to have an offset blade, or so I thought. I’ve tried to use this a few times just because I bought it, so I forced myself to try and cut some dovetails. It’s really not very easy to use. The teeth are set so that it seems to cut on the back stroke and the forward stroke, so it’s hard to push in either direction. After persevering with it, and not really getting anywhere, I ended up using my trusty spear and jackson normal saw, which cuts twice as quickly and is much more accurate if you have the room.It might have been just me, but this was a waste of money. Perhaps a more experienced carpenter would find it more useful, but I didn’t.

Essential saw for Hard floor project – Slight quality issueThe packaged arrived quickly, the saw is perfect to cut the architrave around doors. The saw handle can be switched to allow the saw to be operated in tight spaces. However, the mechanism and the location of the locking pin to the notch on the saw in the switched position isn’t 100% aligned and it’s difficult to lock the handle in the alternative position. Quality issue, this should be checked as there little chance of correcting the miss alignment. I haven’t used the saw so no rating for sheerness but the blade looks like it will perform.
