The HYC40LI is our lightweight cordless chainsaw from Hyundai. Powered by a 40v lithium-ion 2.5 Amp-hour battery, this is the ideal chainsaw for day-to-day woodcutting tasks including felling small to medium-sized trees and chopping logs for wood burners.

Excellent deviceA very helpful Hyundai video on YouTube gave a detailed account of how to assemble this chainsaw and then how to use all of the safety features. I am using it as a replacement for a petrol model and must say it is an excellent replacement. First use has gone very well.

Better than expectedHaving never owned or used a chainsaw before I did some research and decided that this would be best for me. After some initial issues starting it (I had to look on Hyundai website as the instructions that came with it were not complete) I was away. I cut down a greengage tree and a big bay tree in my garden. It cut through most of the branches with ease. It is easy to use and lightweight. I timed whilst cutting up the branches and got 40 minutes continuous use from one charge

Safe and efficientAs an experienced but retired tree feller, I know all about chainsaws. These days I just need one in the back of the truck, for the odd windblown tree I find blocking a forest road – one I know will start, will do the job, and won’t leak petrol everywhere! This fits the bill perfectly. Easily assembled, nicely balanced, instant power, enough guts to do what I need. And, used properly, safe.
