Hedgehog Aware

- Check long grassy areas for hedgehogs (and other wildlife) before strimming or mowing.
- Stop using pesticides and slug pellets in the garden. This can be fatal for hedgehogs.
- Check ponds in the garden has an escape route for hedgehogs such as a sloping ramp.
- Keep netting to a minimum in the garden, make sure it’s neat and tidy with about one for clearance from the ground.

DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER…Do not buy this mower unless you know IT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT.From the first cut, I found it was not as good as my Mountfield which I have had 10/15yrs.After the first cut, I contacted Hyundai, who responded incredibly quickly, but only to say that they would pass me to Technical Support….then, nothing. I chased, they apologised, and said not to worry, as it could be sent back, then, nothing. After several weeks, I have been told it can be sent back, but I will be charged 25% (not included in description)!!!!!!!So, why isn’t it as good as my Mountfield SP460R? Simply, because this is a roller mower, with the expectation that it produces a beautiful striped lawn. IMO it does not, and I believe it to be the cutting height. Since investigating, I believe the Mountfield cuts down to 20mm, and the Hyundai cuts down to 25mm. You would think that 5mm is ‘nothing’, but evidently, it can be a big difference. After cuttting my lawn (in May), the collection box is almost empty and the lines are vague (can’t see them as I am cutting). After a day, you can’t really see them.NB I don’t have a thick lush grass lawn. It has a lot of daisies and other weeds. It is also uneven. If you have a close to perfect lawn, and you haven’t had a Mountfield, you might be happy with the cut.I have attached some pictures of the second week I tried; After cutting with Hyundai, and then my Mountfield. Note the content of the grass box next to the Mountfield.NB The phone camera contrast makes the stripes easier to see, ‘to the eye’ this is not good.Other than that, the mower starts well, but the speed is ridiculous. The slow setting feels like engine will cut out, and moving to the next ‘notch’ is way too fast, with little differentiation going to the highest setting.The instructions to setup the mower are very poor (generic, for other mowers). If you do buy it, don’t tighten the nylon nuts/bolts until you are sure everything is in place. I had to dissemble it 2 or 3 times (note where the pull cord retainer is on the handle in relation to the cord on the engine).NB The instructions don’t mention the hose connection for cleaning, and it was only while checking the Amazon description that I noticed the feature. I had to watch Youtube to see how to use it.I now see the Amazon description shows the cutting height. I have no idea if this was added after I complained, as I don’t recall seeing it before. I am told that this is stated, and so I have no grounds to return the mower without being charged. I can’t afford to simply give >£100 away, so I am stuck with an inadequate mower.So, if you don’t know if the cutting height is a consideration, my advice is, go with a mower that GIVES YOU THE OPTION; allowing to go lower, and raise it when required (eg Mountfield S461R, which I wish I bought!)

Well built quality mower but …Easy to assemble, easy to start, simple height adjustment, cuts well with stripes. Let down by User Manual that is misleading, incorrect and out of date.Just as the 3 year warranty was about to expire the end caps on the rear rollers stated to disintegrate. By the time this was properly identified it was a few days after the 3 years. Got some new parts, but on disassembly found a rogue washer and extra circlip on the roller axle. Contacted GenPower Aftersales (Hyundai) to claim and after numerous emails and photos back and forth they refused to refund the cost of the roller parts. WARNING – CHECK YOUR MOWER CLOSELY WHEN THE WARRANTY IS ABOUT TO RUN OUT. GENPOWER AFTERSALES WILL NOT HELP YOU OUT IF ONE DAY LATE!!Update 30/9/22 – GenPower have agreed to pay half of the cost of the new rollers and end caps and have more or less accepted the original assembly was faulty.

Speeds and customer service.Like the mower. Cuts well. Value for money. Being of a certain age I walk slowly. At top speed, the mower sets off like a racehorse so I contacted Customer services for some advice about cutting at slower speeds. Not a good idea. I had difficulty understanding their e mails ( English and punctuation) So I tried it at the lower speed and found it cut well but was still too fast to walk behind with comfort. In the interest of (my )safety I returned the mower.

Terrible reliability, absolutely awful Customer ServiceMy lawnmower broke down after less than 15 hours of use. First it lost drive and then it seemed that the engine was starting to seize as soon as it warmed up. Customer Service is apalling. First, I did not have the original box but GenPower Ltd offered no help in obtaining one. It took me weeks to source a suitable one. Then they tried to discourage me from returning the lawnmower by stating that if (presumably in their opinion) the fault is a result of mis-use, the repair will be chargeable. My previous Mountfield was used for almost 20 years with no mechanical problems. This Hyundai was supposed to be an upgrade but has turnedd out to be a very expensive mistake. I am completely disillusioned with the product and the so-called Customer Service and I will never buy another Hyundai powered product again.

Happy with this putchaseFirst time reviewer. I’m very pleased with its this lawnmower. It’s powerful without being unwieldy and gives a great cut. The roller leaves nice stripes too.

Easy to use, starts without effort, multiple speed options. A classic.I recently moved into a property with a garden too big for an electric mower so did some Googling and arrived at this Hyundai. Couldn’t be happier. My lines will get straighter when I level the lawn a bit, but it is a) Easy to set up b) Easy to start & c) Easy to use. The safety cable connections could be explained better, but it isn’t hard to figure out.

The Formula 1 of grass mowers!Superb styling and most importantly cuts the grass quickly with a medium amount of effort. It has the capacity to go very quickly but at the age of 79 years I would not be able to keep up with it!!! Easy to follow instructions and a delight to use – this has been a very successful purchase as results are great.

Great mowerI needed a new “larger” mower, this in a impressive lawnmower by all accounts, simple to set up and i can cut my lawn a lot quicker given the blade width.

A Great looking MachineThis looks like a really good machine. Fairly straight-forward to set up and the You Tube videos online are very informative.The height adjustment is really good, no flimsy handle as on others a proper handle on the top of the machine.Cuts really well and lovely stripes with the rear roller.
