PowerfulWorks well, a little awkward with the cord, but for garden and veg patch use it does the job.

Better than an equivalent petrol cultivatorIn the past I have used petrol cultivators – some good, some not so. Using a cultivator always tends to be a bit of a battle, petrol cultivators are heavy and can be difficult to manouver. The electric machine is as powerful as the petrol and a lot lighter making it much easier to handle. I used it (carefully) to remove turf and cut a couple of new beds in a fraction of the time it would have taken me without a cultivator. My garden is on the top of a ridge and is very stoney, it deals with all this with ease. My only criticisms are the clips to secure the electric cable are useless and have replaced them with cable ties and I would like the trigger to be an accelerator rather than an on/off switch – I think this would make it easier to use.

Better than expectedWorked over 150 sq.m in prep for a wild flower meadow next year. It encounted many large stones and bits of brick and it powered on through. Was worried that it might be a bit too lightweight for the job but really pleased I bought this rather than hire a bigger model for the weekend.

Worth the moneyI found it difficult to use in beginning but once i had got the hang of it it made a hell of a lot of difference, in fact my garden looks great now. i removed any large stones or brick pieces from soil so has not to damage the blades the tiller then did a great job turning and breaking down the soil.

Perfect for our gardenWe’ve a relatively small garden but I love gadgets! A petrol rotavator would be too big big and far too heavy for the size of our garden, this is perfect. I was amazed how light it is and easy to move, it’s certainly no heavier than our electric lawnmower. At 1500 watts it’s plenty powerful enough for our soil. BUT do bear in mind this is really a tiller so useful for breaking down the soil ready for sowing. I did follow suggestions to dig the soil first. We have quite heavy soil with clay so I wouldn’t even attempt using the machine for the ‘first dig’ (others who have used a ‘tiller’ for a first dig report burning out the motor or breaking the tines). Used with care this is perfect! Be prepared though, it is powerful and needs strong arms to keep under control!

Garden cultivatorGood quality product though sometimes struggled with hard, dry clay soil.

Rotates a bit too fastThis light weight tiller spins the blades around at terrific speed. It does turn over the ground in its path. But it also scatters it far and wide!I was hoping the RPM was significantly lower and more like a petrol driven tiller I’d prevoiusly used.I had planned to turn over raised beds with this. But it’s so frantic, jumping about and throwing so much material around it’s not very practical. The lack of a speed control has this resigned to shed until I need to turn over a large patch where the fall out / mud spray is less of a concern.

Easy to use, powerful, quality tool.Never used a tiller before, this was my first experience. Very pleased with its performance. It manages to dig up firm to hard surfaces and copes well with stones, too. Seems like a quality product. I just hope the blade is sturdy and doesn’t get snapped up by a stone, as not sure if it’ll be covered under manufactures warranty?
