Tungsten Steel Tap and Dies
Gunpla tap and die set is designed to help hobbyists and professionals in repairing damaged thread or for threading virgin material, making it easier and effortless. You will be able to produce the best results, with a highly reduced risk of wear and tear or breakage, on your tools. Taps and dies can both be used to either cut new threads or repair damaged threads. They are finished perfectly, to increase the cutting ability and life. They are widely applicable.

9 Metric Dies
The set features 9 different types of thread dies; M3 x 0.5, M4 x 0.7, M5 x 0.8, M6 x 1.0, M7 x 1.0, M8 x 1.25, M9 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5, M12 x 1.75mm.The hand threading dies are round, the most common and convenient thread dies that help in performing quality work. Our round dies are designed to effortlessly and comfortably fit in a T-handle, to be applied efficiently on the chosen material. Dies are most often employed for the cutting of threads and sometimes also used as a chaser to repair existing threads.

9 Metric Thread Taps
The set features 9 different types of thread taps; M3 x 0.5, M4 x 0.7, M5 x 0.8, M6 x 1.0, M7 x 1.0, M8 x 1.25, M9 x 1.25, M10 x 1.5, M12 x 1.75mm. Among which the most widely used; tapers, plugs and bottoms included. Designed with a very strong and hard tungsten alloy steel for them to perform their general purposes on the hardest.

Die Holder/Stock and Tap Wrench
– As a prominent tool in the set, a die holder or stock is used in conjunction with a die to create external or male threads, often used on plain rods, to ease the fastening of nuts onto them.
– The tap wrench is ideal to use in conjunction with a tap, generally as a drill to create internal or female threads in blocks or metal sheets for easy fastening of screws and bolts onto them.

Fantastic quality for the moneyI have used these to cut threads in Ash and Oak. They performed flawlessly, cutting clean and accurate threads.I have also used the taps and dies to restore threaded bolts and captive nuts.

Great value for what I needed it to beI only needed to repair a handle on a double glazed window unit so didn’t want to spend a fortune. This kit was surprisingly well made and did the jobs I needed really well. Not sure how it would stand up to heavy use but for occasional usage it’s up to the job. I will say it is very therapeutic fixing loose fitting bolts so have used it more times than anticipated

Quality item you can feel in your handsAs soon as you take them out of the box, you feel the weight of every component. Very solidly built and so far, they’ve been 100% successful with every tap I’ve attempted.

ValueI would not use it for long periods. Good enough to get you of a hole if stuck.

Threads are fine, taps are cheap and will breakGot no problem with the thread rods. They have worked fine in mild steel. Not tested with anything harder though. However, the Tap (the handle) broke on first use, while threading a 10mm thread. I expect the other tap (there are 2 types in the pack) will also break very quickly, as it’s made of the same shoddy metal that you’d find on a kid’s toy. Only buy this set if you already have good quality taps, or you’ll be returning them.

Straight through 20mm Thick gauge plateI have a 20mm thick gauge plate made from tool steel, not yet hardened but still needing something tough enough as not to brake off inside the hole So I decided not to get the HSS ones and got these Instead made from tungsten alloy. No problem using tap in a test hole, it went straight through. They look quality too.Wow I’m glad I can update my review because after saying how good I thought it was, it broke when I was only tapping Aluminum LOL at least the tap didn’t brake inside I guess

Smaller taps couldn’t cut through melted butterHad my motorbike wheels powder coated so needed an M10 and M8 tap to run through the threads to clean the them out. M10 was fine for the sprocket carrier threads but the M8 was useless, cut half of one thread and blunted the tap. Had to buy a good quality M8 tap to finish the job. Pay a bit more and you should receive better quality taps.

A very useful set.Only used one tap so far, but the set seems decent quality for the price. Unable to give a rating for longevity, but should be OK for DIYers.
