Various Types of Thread Taps

Highly Versatile
Our taps can be used to start the thread in a blind hole, to be finished by another tap or used to cut threads through a hole. When you only need to cut threads to the bottom, they can always serve perfectly as well.

Tap Wrench and Die Holder/Stock
– The tap wrench is ideal to use in conjunction with a tap, generally as a drill to create internal or female threads in blocks or metal sheets for easy fastening of screws and bolts onto them.
– As a prominent tool in the set, a die holder or stock is used in conjunction with a die to create external or male threads, often used on plain rods, to ease the fastening of nuts onto them.

Round Threading Dies
The hand threading dies are round, the most common and convenient thread dies that help in performing quality work. Our round dies are designed to effortlessly and comfortably fit in a T-handle, to be applied efficiently on the chosen material. Dies are most often employed for the cutting of threads and sometimes also used as a chaser to repair existing threads.
With the handles provided in the set, your work can only be easier, with the best results.

Screw Pitch Gauge and Slotted Screwdriver
– A durable thread pitch gauge, or screw pitch gauge that will help in quickly and accurately determining the pitch or lead of a screw thread. Definitely a high quality and handy thread pitch gauge you can use anytime.
– A slotted screwdriver, a long standard hand-tool with flat bladed tip used to turn, fasten and/or loosen screws and bolts. The flat blade screwdriver is an extremely versatile tool and can be used to fasten most sizes, providing significant leverage.

Good value setThe reason for only 4 stars is not having had reason to use this set yet (I found another way around the problem that I had). However the set does look good value and perfect for occasional use. The only negative that I have noticed so far is that the case does not securely hold the contents if inverted. I would recommend for the DIYer looking for a good value solution.

Hand tool vice snapped and is now unusable. The box of taps looks great, for the price. 3 tapes of each grade so having spares is a plus. The metal box is great to see in the age of plastic junk. I planned to use it today to tap two holes for some M10 bolts in aluminium.Halfway into tapping the first hole, the tapping tool itself broke as you can see in the photos the part which holds the tap securely in place had snapped just from tapping into aluminium; a soft metal. Very unimpressed. I used a hand drill with low torque to finish the job which isn’t ideal as you cannot feel what the tap is doing. The tapping tool itself also broke another way. In the photos, you can see that one of the handles threads has sheared off making it now impossible to remove the tap rendering the tool useless.I won’t return the item as the taps aren’t faulty, but I’ll be buying a separate tool. I should say that you don’t need hardly any force to tap aluminium so the fact the tool broke within the first minute of use is kinda embarrassing.

Cheap but low qualityUsed the set twice to tap a total of 12 holes and the tapping wren h block has a crack through it.

The box is the best bitI’ve used a few of these now, and they’re very cheap and brittle. I already have a mix of Volkel and Dormer taps I’ve built up over the years but had no dies and no box to keep them all in, so thought I’d buy this kit so I could put my good taps in and replace the dies over the years. The box is fairly decent, the dies are awful. The M6 one started chipping and breaking the edges off the teeth the first time I used it, and the threads it cuts are very sloppy in a standard A2 M6 nut. I expected them to wear out quickly but not to be this poor…

cheap and cheerfulCheap and cheerful, but seems robust enough for the sort of use that a hobbyist is likely to need. Maybe it wouldn’t stand up to everyday use but I’ve retapped a few threads and tidies up a few bolts and everything works just fine without a problem – certainly no wear on the taps or dies so all in all very good

Did the jobNot sure how durable these are but so far they have cut threads in plastic, aluminium and mild steel without any trouble and seem to retain their sharpness. I only use them occasionally so I can’t give them a workshop rating but they seem good enough for hobby use.
