BlowerMachine does what it says on box

Very strong blower… rubbish batteries !This short review is for the Greenworks Axial Leaf Blower, 40V Cordless Battery Powered with 210km/h Air Speed and 2 x 2amp batteries.Well let me first say that I was influence to purchase this machine initially by the power of the ‘blow’. It’s predecessor blew (a unit that is still available here on Amazon) at 177km/h air speed whereupon this unit achieves an air speed of 210km/h. I have no idea of what the km/h actually represents but what I can tell you is that it is lightweight and very powerful. Extremely so. That said so why am I dissatisfied with this machine ?…. well the 2 supplied 40v x 2amp x 72Wh batteries that come along with this blower are… to put is mildly, useless. They are totally inadequate. I charged up both units before starting and proceeded to my short leafy covered drive with eager anticipation. The blower worked OK no problem but after 6-7 minutes or so ran out of power. OK so the next battery when in and it was the same result. Did I switch on the Turbo power….? don’t make me laugh, never even got to that stage. My conclusion was that clearly the 2 supplied basic Greenworks batteries gives NOWHERE near enough battery longevity to work this powerful blower. 10-14 minutes of power from 2 basic batteries is rubbish for the current asking price of £ 197. I think that at the very minimum it requires at least the Greenworks 4amp battery versions to work this very powerful blower to any degree of satisfaction. I’m afraid its going to be pronto returned.Would I recommend… absolutely no way unless you’re prepared to purchase the very expensive alternative Greenwork batteries. Until or unless they upgrade the batteries to something more substantial I feel the current cost cannot be justified. Will finish by saying the actual blower was brilliant, so if you have 4mp batteries already then just buy the machine itself. All IMHO of course.

PowerfulI used the batteries from my Greenworks mower and they were great. I have a large grassed area and between the two it did a very good job. I live in a forest so Autumn brings loads of leaves.

  4. Country man

Does the jobA really good piece of equipment, powerful and easy to use.Does the job with ease.

Perfect Leaf BlowerThis is the third blower I have in my shed, but got fed up with the weight and hassle with electric cables with the other two. This machine is a joy to use and easily held with one hand.I found the battery life very good. However living in the New Forest with large gardens and surrounded by trees, including a 40 foot Oak in the back garden I felt it prudent to purchase a second battery.Yesterday the first battery exhausted after about 45 minutes of continuous use, which I felt quite acceptable and filled two large garden refuse bags with leaves. Finally these leaves were fairly wet but the machine had no problem blowing them into a heap for bagging.

Battery life has still to be tested fully.I bought the cordless leaf blower for collecting leaves etc. Unfortunately the weather has not been suitable for testing the blower fully, so I don’t know how long the battery lasts. The weight and ease of use are good for a woman to use, which was what I was really concerned about originally. I am very pleased about that.

I wasn’t sure I need this – but it’s been greatI’ve got lots of trees around my lawn. I was raking like crazy, so I thought to try a leaf blower. I wanted an electric one, so I tried this one based on feedback. It’s been great. The effort to get leaves off my grass is much reduced. Still need to rake for thatch, but that’s much less often. Have been very impressed with Greenworks, and intend to get some other compatible equipment from them.

  8. Denisepotts

Nice toolPerfect tool I have used this nonstop since purchasing it and am delighted with the results, I may upgrade and purchase a better battery in time but a happy customer.

  9. Tony Rackham

Great piece of equipmentThis is a great tool, very easy to use and I get good battery life. I use the same family of tools for strimming and hedge trimming and being able to share the batteries around is great.

Contents of package incomplete and also impossible to clip main tube into blower itselfDelivered promptly, but (1) impossible to clip main tube into machine itself – must be faulty connection – I tried for over an hour, following the instructions exactly; and (2) smallest part of tube (number 3 on attached drawing) was missing from the box – obviously the fault of a careless packer. I am asking Amazon to send a replacement of the missing part so that I can avoid sending the whole thing back, and I will have to see whether somebody can solve the faulty connection problem. If not, I will have to return the whole item.I have been unable to rate the blower accurately for this reason. The one star refers to the problems described.I tried the battery and charger and they work normally. The air flow seems very powerful.I am extremely disappointed as I am a good customer of Amazon.I urgently await a solution from Amazon.ADDITIONAL COMMENT:What am I supposed to do with this order? Please advise urgently. As I explained, the item was faulty and part of the tube was missing. You offered me a rebate of £15 (15% of the purchase price) plus another £10, total £35. I was going to accept this because I got my gardener to repair the faulty connection between the basic machine and the tube, but you had sent me the labels to return the item, and then you suddenly decided to issue a full refund, which I have not yet received. What is happening? Am I to return the item or not? The whole thing is a fiasco.
