Good for cleaning up threads.Let’s get this clear straight away, using these taps to cut new threads in anything harder than plasticine is likely to end in failure. For that you need a proper split die or tap set [3 taps] either of which, if you get a good one, will cost nearly as much as this complete collection. However, what this set does do very well, is clean up existing threads. The thread forms seem to match existing ones and not want to carve out a load of new material. The accessories provided are man enough to carry out these cleaning up tasks and I suspect negative reviews of these is due to trying to cut new threads in metal. More than happy with this set. Good value at the price. Does what I need it to do (clean paint and crud off old threads) Would buy again.

Thread from the past.I only required a 3/8 tap, but at this price I was on a winner, doubt I will ever use the rest of it, but its there if I need it, excellent kit at this cost.
