awesome bit of kitWell, I’ve done light hedge trimming with this since i got it and it’s been great. but yesterday a chopped down a massive cherry tree with it, used 2 batteries and it never missed a beat. absolutely brilliant bit of kit, got loads of einhell stuff and it’s all been great

Fast Efficient CuttingPurchased this Multi Trimmer after trying out the 30cm cordless lawnmower and been very happy with the built quality, the ease with which my wife could use it whilst I am out of action for a few months and the resultant finish on the lawn. The Multi Trimmer arrives with minimum instructions but even with one arm out of action and the wife’s help we managed to put this together and give it a very quick trial run.The build quality seems very good, it works efficiently, fast and the shoulder strap balances the weight well. I couldn’t use it so my wife cautiously gave it a go and although she found it a little too heavy to use for any length of time she did make short work of an unruly shrub and was grinning from ear to ear when she had finished in less than 5mins. As the pole reaches from 88cm to 182cm this will make my life a lot easier in the garden. The 3amp battery lasted easily on such a short trial but the instructions state it will recharge from flat in an hour with the included fast charger, which is good. Looking forward to seriously testing the chainsaw element when I am back in action as there are a few old tree stumps left in the garden from previous owners that I want rid of. Only awarding 4 stars until I am able to give a real workout, and if it does the job as well as the cordless mower I will be back to give it the star rating it deserves.

Easy to useBought to help keep an unruly field hedge in order. Easy to assemble, surprisingly weighty and balance could be better i.e less weight tool end or more weight battery end, preferably the former. Only used the chain saw so far which cuts well on branches, the thicker the better tbh. Cuts thick branches 3-4inches if you don’t rush or apply too much pressure or it can jam. Seemed to jam up a bit on small stuff fairly often, eg brambles, which are better suited to the trimmer I suspect. Overall easier to use than my petrol alternative. Good investment I think, but early days.

Looks ok so farNot the most powerful hedge trimmer or chainsaw. The hedge trimmer is ok for small branches but got stuck multiple times on black berry vines. With appropriate technique the chain saw can be used to chop of medium size branches was able to chop off a brach about 6cm in diameter. Bit in the heavier side and very top heavy as expected. Reach is reasonable

Poor experience but rectifiedNo external packaging just retail box. First one turned up used and in a damaged/tatty box – I contacted Amazon immediate who arranged a replacement without any fuss and it turned up the next day (A+). Unfortunately that one was also in damaged packaging, so much so a number of the attachments appear to have fallen out in transit and were lost. Had to contact Einhell CS who were superb and a replacement was sent out the same day.Once I finally had the complete setup it worked great. Batteries charge super quick. Easy to assemble and do exactly what it is supposed to do…Well (albeit it’s quite cumbersome and heavy if you don’t need the full reach).Just a shame the purchasing experience was sooo bad. Credit to Amazon and Einhell for being responsive though.

  6. Mr S R Anstice

Very portable with a good battery charge life, stores easily.Once use to the strap and other adjustments, it is comfortable to use. Needs some strength to use as it is necessarily not lightweight, and the longer it is extended, the more strength is needed, particularly if needing to use it elevated. Robust and good value for the serious gardener!

  7. Daniel

Surprisingly GoodSurprisingly well made and capable. A little on the heavy side and uses quite a lot of chainsaw oil.Great for keeping a large hedge in order and for general shrub and hedge maintenance.

  8. A F Alexander

Great tool but very unbalanced and top heavy .Great tool but unbalanced and top heavy. The grip when using it could be greatly improved by repositioning the on switch from the very end of the pole to the bottom half where it would be more accessible to the operator. You need strong arms to use this extended and be built like a gorilla to hold it in place. Other than this its an efficient and useful tool.

It’s so damned heavyThis does what it says on the tin by it is so damned heavy!

Well priced, good performance, better than previous tools from more recognised brandsAfter a year using this tool I have to say that it has been a surprise success. I’ve had various battery powered hedge trimmers / cutters over the years and this is a very good tool. After a year of use and sensible maintenance (ensuring the chain has oil in the reservoir, cleaning the inside of the mechanism and lubricating the hedge cutters) it’s holding up well. The battery lasts plenty of time and charges reasonably quickly. It has far outlasted my previous separate chain saw and hedge cutters that were manufactured by much more recognised brands ( what pieces of crud they were – Black & Decker, Bosch – I’m looking at you). Like some other reviewers it can be a bit top heavy but with careful adjustment of the strap, supporting on your hip and setting the length correctly for the job in hand, I can do the entire 20m long 3m high hedge with ease. The chain cutter and hedge cutter have remained sharp and still perform well. The only issue I’ve had is that the chain does loosen after a relatively short time of use but is easy to tension again ( 30 second job). Very impressed for a reasonably priced tool, have used it much more than I thought I would and for cutting small branches / trees the added benefit is that you feel safer being further away from the chain saw.
