The Einhell cordless hedge trimmer GC-CH 1846 Li Kit (1 x 2.0 Ah) is fitted with a two-hand safety switch: The hedge trimmer stops automatically if both hands are no longer on its handle. Much more efficient than Wired versions.Much easier and lighter to use than my old wired hedge trimmer. Impressed with how long the battery lasted when trimming bushes and hedges. Managed to get over 1 hour on 2Ah battery before it died and only took 50mins to fully recharge. This was my first use, so don’t know if this will be maintained with further use.Would cut through 1cm thick branches whereas my wired version managed 1.5cm, just something to bear in mind when purchasing.Please note that I purchased the battery and charger with the hedge trimmer, which was much cheaper than purchasing them separately. To cut all my hedges in one go, will need to purchase a second back up battery.

awesome bit of kitbought this as I’ve got loads of einhell kit, needless to say not disappointed at all, if the branch will fit in the blades it will pretty much cut it. only thing i found it struggled with was climbing ivy, the branches on that seemed to bend rather than cut, but brambles and actual hedge bushes it rips through! i got the 4ah battery’s and was getting about 70-90 minutes approx out of a battery, very impressed with it.

Great for the price, battery lasts wellPretty light and very easy to use. Bought mine 2 years ago and after using it, hung it up in the garage. Went to use it this morning and…the battery still had plenty of charge in it and away it went. Brilliant, just what you want – no faffing about, it just works. Definitely recommended for the lighter stuff it’s designed for – overgrown hedges, small trees and bushes etc.

Excellent hedge cutterExcellent hedge cutter, makes short work of cutting overgrown hedging.Very pleased with this product, it is lightweight, easy to handle and slices through all kinds of hedging with no problem at all. I have previously purchased the Einhell drill and reciprocating saw (fabulous for rapid cutting through thick wood) which I have been using to build raised beds on my allotment plot, so I already had the 3.0ah battery and the battery charger, so didn’t need to pay extra for these. Note: if you don’t have these products already you are looking at another £70-80ish, but in my opinion well worth it, particularly if you are going to buy other equipment in future, and I have been very impressed with Einhell products so far. This product was therefore the obvious choice when I needed a replacement hedge cutter, as already having the other accessories I thought it was really good value. The cutting blade is superb, I oiled it with some 3in1 on arrival then set about 2hrs of hedge cutting, it went through a mixed ‘bush’ type hedge (not really a hedge, just ridiculous scrub), then a beech hedge, then a massive holly hedge with ease. I used to use a Flymo extendable cutter, which was not only hard work and too heavy to handle but the cutting blade was useless so I used to end up re-doing it by hand with manual hedge trimmers to get a decent finish, not so with the Einhell which leaves a very smooth surface.My only gripe for this is not about the product, but about the Hermes courier who delivered it. Delivery day came and went, they said they had been, but no card was left and I was in all day, so I knew they hadn’t attempted, then the next day they turned up with it and stood in my front garden for a bit looking confused, it was purely by chance that I happened to be passing the front door at the time and so went out to see who it was. The cutter was in a very large amazon box, but the ‘prime’ seal had already been cut open with a Stanley knife, then someone had messily wrapped some brown parcel tape around it again to keep the box together. Okay I thought, lets see what is in the box – I opened it to find the hedge cutter also in its original box, but this too had been cut open at the top and left with the flap lying open. Nothing was missing, but it looked to me very much like someone in the Hermes warehouse had been looking for portable items to steal – maybe they thought there would be an expensive battery in here easy to take out or other item to steal. Seriously not impressed with Hermes and Amazon should re-consider their use as a delivery agent if they are going around opening peoples parcels to check what is inside.

It’s a revelation!This is a great product. It goes through the hedge like butter, and after one hour the battery only used one bar of charge, so you could easily do a biggish job with it. I also purchased the lawnmower to match but found the battery run time on that sorely lacking, not so with the hedge trimmer.
