    Tool to haveGreat kit

So far, so good.I bought this kit because it comes with standard and fine metric taps/dies in a fairly wide range of thread diameters.I also chose it because I have borrowed an identical kit (which I think is also draper) from a local garage several times. As they say, ‘if you have to borrow a tool 3 times, you need to buy it.”I am very happy with it.It’s probably only good for light use, cleaning rusty threads (internal and external) rather than cutting them from scratch, but that is exactly what I want it for. .Remove a front suspension arm bolt, and it is hard to remove. The threads pick up slightly. Run the bolt on a wire wheel to remove rust, and then run a die down it to clean the threads up. Then, run the tap into the captive nut in the subframe. The bolt that I thought would snap on removal can now be refitted with my fingers.Just remember, lubricate the taps/dies with grease. Just remember…Step one : Half a turn in, half a turn out, half a turn in, half a turn out. Step two: one turn in.Step 3, return to step one.Every so often take the tap or die all the way off, clean it and re-apply grease.

No drill bits includedAt the time of my Amazon purchace it stated “Supplied with the correct drill bits for tapping” but no drill bits were supplied, even in a seperate box. Nor are there any spaces for drill bits in the plastic case containing the taps /dies /holders /screwdriver, othwise I’m pleased with the set.

  4. BikeSOS

Good quality but returned it only as the set has …Good quality but returned it only as the set has bigger taps and dies than I’d anticipated (should have read the spec)
