Great strimmerDidn’t take long to assemble. Very lightweight, nice design. Very powerful. Easy to put away. Would reccomend as it’s good value from a known brand.

Change the cutting line and it’s greatA previous (very useful) reviewer suggested that issues with the cutting line breaking all the time could be solved by buying a thicker line. S/he mentioned drilling the “anchoring” hole a little larger in the plastic spool, and using a 3mm line. I didn’t trust my plastic-drilling skills, but another reviewer had said that a 2.4mm line would fit in, so I bought a pretty solid plastic one for about £3.50. Sadly, it didn’t fit but, undaunted, I took a sharp penknife and sort of whittled the last half inch or so of the cutting line, so that I could anchor it into the hole. That worked and after that the line also passed easily through the external hole, and I now have a very feisty strimmer that easily cuts through brambles, dandelions and even the dreaded Mare’s Tail. The only hassle will be having to whittle the end of the line when I replace it, but it takes just seconds to do. I’d rather do that than spend £100 + on something that isn’t much better. One thing to highlight is the dreadful noise it makes if you leave the cutting line too long. I guess this is true of all strimmers. The line should extend just to the inside edge of the guard and no further.

Strimer wire not very sturdy and needed to by more after a couple of monthsStrimer wire not very sturdy and needed to by more after a couple of months. Also strimer do not have the function to hit the bottom of the strimmer wire to unwind more, so have to stop and pull the wire out with the button on the side of the wire container or ofter had to take apart to relocate the end of the wire and put back through the hole

Great little gadgetIt is easy to use and for me that’s a big plus I am in a wheelchair as I have lost my leg. So what takes you 10 minutes takes me an hour but after assembly it took no time at all to trim the edge of my lawn.

Not so great outside urban gardensIf it his kerbing or concrete you will be messing with the thread. 3 times changing lead in half an hour ain’t so good

Try and avoid BoschItems are good for the money, but if anything goes wrong the customer team are useless and the ‘app’ you use to register the product is broken so you can’t register any Warranty. I’ll be opting for other brands goi g forwards.

Can’t do better for the priceCheap as chips, plenty of power and does the job it’s designed for.The automatic line feed works every time you stop the motor, so when it seems to be cutting less effectively, release trigger, when the spool slows down you’ll hear a click and you’ll be back to full length line. The line is quite thin, so it wears down easily against brickwork etc, so use a little common sense and don’t go smashing it around hard and rough objects and it’s fine, a bit of finesse will have your edges nice and tidy in no time. All the bad reviews I’d saw are operator error, it does the job well IMO
