It’s no LTT Screwdriver but it’s great valueLike others, I’d been pondering over whether to buy a very-well made screwdriver recently produced by a well-known tech YouTube channel but at nearly £100 once delivery and customs duty were factored in, it was something I couldn’t justify. So I looked at other brands and decided that, for my own needs, something fairly basic would probably do the job.Is the Amazon Basics screwdriver the best on the market? No. It’s shaft has a fair bit of wobble and the ratchet mechanism isn’t perfect. But at under £10 it’s an absolute steal. I own a decent collection of tools and I’ll happily take ones which do 90% as good a job at 10% of the price, all day long. The push-button bit storage in the handle is convenient, it’s nicely weighted and grippy, and the knurling on the shaft is excellent. This screwdriver will do most jobs with ease. It’s perhaps less-suited to small, intricate jobs although it’ll still do them just fine. The magnets aren’t the greatest but I haven’t lost a screw or a bit yet.So if, like me, you want a ratcheting screwdriver but can’t justify the expense of some of the branded products, I’d highly recommend giving this a go, especially if it’s something you’ll only use a few times per month or less. For the price, it’s probably the best value item in my toolbox.

Sturdy, but one thing missingI found this through watching the Linus tech tips videos on ratchet screwdrivers. The ratchet on this is good but not great. It has a bit of play with the ratchet but provides a perfect weight balance. What let’s it down in my opinion is the lack of magnetism from the screw bits, even with the product being advertised as a ‘Magnetic Ratchet Screwdriver’, The part of the product that is magnetic is the bits being magnetised towards the shaft, of which is detachable which is a nice addition!Purchased it for general use and assembling furniture and for PC parts and it has been great so far as a daily driver. Definitely worth the pennys if you want a cheap ratchet screwdriver

The goody driverCame on time it’s really sturdy like the way hides the ends for screwdriver just enough for what you need it for only drawback not very magnetic but worth the money

Good but one downsideI bought this after watching the Linus tech tips videos on ratchet screwdrivers. The ratchet mechanism is good but not great. The weight is perfect. What let’s it down though is the lack of magnetism from the screw bits. Purchased it for pc building it was good enough but had a lot of frustrations with GPU installations and the screws falling off the head!Definitely worth the punt if you want a cheap ratchet screwdriver

  6. Davy Dude

Only screwdriver you needExcellent quality, neat and functional storage for additional driver bits, very strong ratchet – top quality product

  7. SofaPizza

A good driver for the money, quite surprised. As the title states, I wasn’t expecting much from this for the money, the Amazon basics line is generally not great quality. However, I’m surprised to say I’m genuinely impressed by this one. It feels solid enough for most DIY type jobs, it has enough bits to tackle most things about the house and the grip is comfortable.I wouldn’t expect this to last long in a heavy duty work environment, the shaft has a little more flex than the named alternatives. The spring loaded compartment for storing the bits in the handle is cool, but this is a gimic and will likely be the first thing to go, that and the plastic retainer that holds it down. This doesn’t sound like a positive review, but it is. The price you are paying for this is a bargain, if all you need is an all-in-one driver for keeping around the house for the DIY jobs, this is the one for you. If you want something for the toolbox at work or the car, then probably invest a bit more money.

  8. Francis

sturdy feel about itHave only used it a couple of times so far but it has a sturdy feel about it and a smooth ratchet.

  9. Paul M

Cheap, bit very sturdyGreat quality and good value

  10. Peter Fox

Good valueGood value, go-to screwdriver since it has all the bits. Basic but good ratchet. Detachable shaft is a nice addition too.
