it depends. It is a mishmash of sizes which the manufacturers don’t seem to be able to differentiate between. this is a low buget set of taps and dies both metric and imperial (sometimes in the same tool) but its exactly what I wanted. I keep coming across bits of metal that don’t fit into a size properly. this set seems to be directed at fitting anything you may come across. good for the diy/don’t need very often/ just get the job done workshop. warning if your formular one mechanics or NASA engineers pay a bit more for your metal.

Worked for meBroke a bolt off in the thermostat of my car. Drilled it out and used this to fix the hole and install a new screw. Second time used to rethread the end of stripped axle on a mini bike. Had no issues worked like it should

4-40 bit was not machined properly (burrs). As mentioned by a previous reviewer, the case isn’t very tight and the bits go everywhere. Ok so it was all shook up in the back of a delivery truck. Normally I wouldn’t care but metal thread on metal threads isn’t a good thing. Had them in my car from gf’s house to my house. All over the place again. I don’t drive a UPS truck with 300,000 miles on the suspension. I cut a piece of cardboard to match and it’s a little too tight but the cardboard is still fresh and hasn’t compressed any yet. In time it should make do or will be replaced with the foam lining stuff that goes inside of tool drawers.Second, the 4-40 bit has burrs on it. I could use the 4-40 die to clean the 4-40 tap but why should I have to out of the box? I haven’t looked at the dies to see how they are formed. A quick glance at the rest of the taps and they look ok. I needed the M10x1.0 and it looked and worked fine. These are cheap but then a 60 piece set at $35 or whatever will tell you that. If it was a $180 set, it would be going back. PERIOD.

Good set for the priceI wish there was a couple more sizes in this kit and that the dies where not round as I didn’t notice before buying them, but they have worked great and have had no issues.
