Not as sharp as I would likeGood design but let down on the cutting does take a lot of force to cut through even small branches but for the price okay

Brilliantrecently moved into a house with a large garden that had numerous multi stemmed bushes and trees which had all been left unpruned for a number of years. This saw has made light work of everything i’ve asked it to do so far, from cutting out small branches to even sawing through a couple of trunks that were about 100mm – 125mm thick (although this was a little harder to do). It’s safety lock works well and it’s easy to hold with a handle that has good grip and fits the hand well. Even the colour is useful as it’s easy to find when you’ve put it down while working under bushes.Very pleased with it so far, it’s done a lot of work and is still sharp.

Bigger than expectedI’ll be honest and start this review by saying that I use this in a different capacity than most – This sits in my bergen and is used to process firewood when I’m doing bushcraft.Sizing wise, I didn’t expect it to be as big as it is, usually when something looks big in the pictures, it’s smaller in person… Not this, I’d probably say the pictures make it look smaller than it actually is, which isn’t a big deal. It’s also sharp, the blade is easy to change, and there’s multiple locking positions whilst the saw is in use, if your cack handed like myself, it’s a useful feature.Ergonomics, I don’t find it overly comfortable to use – I’m used to using axes, hatchets and large knives to process wood, so that might be why I’m struggling with the hand position on the saw, although saying that, it does seem better suited to people with large hands than medium or small hands. For the price, your getting a sturdy bit of kit, which will more than do the job, so in that sense you can’t go wrong. If you’ve got smaller hands, I’d suggest looking for something slightly smaller in size though.

It cuts thro 15cm tree trunkI had a 5 m high holly tree allowed to grow wild with 3-4 m branches in tight corner of garden close to neighbouring fences so litte room to move. Electric saw too unwieldy for cutting the trunk and saws I have just kept getting stuck. I didnt want to buy a chain saw for just one job so thought after reading reviews would give this saw a try. Climbed the ladder and started sawing. Cut through the width of the blade in no time and as long as I kept it level cut through the rest with relative ease taking a few short breaks to give my arm a rest. Roped up the section of the trunk I was cutting so I could pull it to drop in the right direction away from the fence and managed to pull the section over so the last few cuts when it was left hanging just allowed me to make a precise cut so I could just pull it over to the spot where I wanted it to drop. I am now on the fourth section and still surprised at what seemed like a light weight saw has managed to cut. Seems I have got my moneys worth

Great sawWouldn’t do without this. Easily cuts through branches. Ideal for pruning and the double action blade easily cuts through larger branches. Would definitely recommend.

SharpThe teeth are large so the cuts are rough, as long as you understand that this item works fine

Cheap, it works, BUT i wish i bought more expensiveI wanted a cheap saw for carrying on my dirtbike in the UK so that if i came across fallen branches or small trees I could clear them rather than having to turn around. The saw stayed in my rucksack for a few months before being used in February 2022 after the big storm (can’t remember the name) that basically felled thousands of trees up and down the country. Around this time I did indeed come across a few small trees blocking my trails and was able to clear them with this saw.Pros:-Cheap-Relatively lightweight-Sharp teeth, good cutting speedCons:-Thin flimsy blade which has a tendency to bend and also gets very easily pinched in branches while you’re cutting them, unless you apply pressure on the end, to keep the gap open so the blade can slide.-Handle shape easily allows fingers to slide up handle and into the teeth of the blade, such as when the blade gets stuck on a forward stroke and your hand slides up the handle and onto the very sharp teeth!I always wear leather gloves with this, and it’s fine for a cheap occasional saw. I wouldn’t rely on it for regular use, and at some stage will probably go and buy a laplander which is a much more high quality saw albeit much more expensive!

question more than a reviewI bought this saw in 2020 and have used it on almost every canoe and camping trip I go on. I cannot say anything negative about this product but due to the amount of use, it has become a bit blunt and not cutting as good as it used to. My question to the seller is, do you sell replacement blades or do i have to buy the entire saw again? I hope you do sell blades because it seems a waste to dispose of the handle when it’s still in top condition. While i’m here i might as well provide some detail on the product – it’s very comfortable to hold, and cuts through any type of wood whether wet or dry. As mentioned, i have used it almost every other week for well over a year and it’s never let me down. For the price, I cannot recommend this product enough. My friend has another brand with a shorter blade and it doesn’t come anywhere near this product in terms of comfort, and how easily it cuts through logs. Very happy with this purchase.
