Rockstar have announced that the very popular Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available to play on October 26th 2018, just in time for Halloween! With just a matter of weeks left to wait, let’s find out what’s new in this second sequel to the Wild Western game. I myself can not wait to get my hands on it!
Rockstar have confirmed that Red Dead Redemption will be available to play on PS4 (PlayStation 4) and Xbox One. Although I would expect that although it’s not been confirmed, that a PC version will be on the cards too.
What is Red Dead Redemption about?
In short, the game is set in 1899, when the end of the Wild West era has begun. Red Dead Redemption 2 is based on Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang who are forced to survive in the rugged heartland of America after a bank robbery went wrong, with the best bounty hunters hot on their tail.
How realistic is Red Dead Redemption 2?
Since the game is based on a gang, trying to escape and survive in the wild western America, Rockstar have made great effort when it comes to the members of the gang, weaponry and even animals! In fact, there are over 200 species of animals, birds and fish in the game, all playing an important role.
Just some animals include:
- The California Valley Coyote
- The Whitetail Buck
- The Eastern Turkey Vulture
- The Bald Eagle
- The American Alligator
- The Tennessee Walker
- The North American Brown Bear
- The Lake Sturgeon
- The Banded Gila Monster
- The Morgan Horse
Are there any benefits to pre-ordering?
The answer to that is yes! In fact, Rockstar have confirmed that all pre-orders of Red Dead Redemption 2 come with a pair of story mode enhancements! The first being ‘War horse’ which provides you with an iron grey coloured horse, which has greater courage and stamina than the average horse. The second enhancement is ‘the outlaw survival kit’ which includes a collection of crucial supplies such as dead eye and health boosters. There are also digital pre-order bonuses including cash bonus and treasure map. To find out full details, just visit Rockstar Games.
